Off the Hill, my current exhibition at Fitchburg State University, is an offshoot of the Facing Fitchburg portfolio, which you may be familiar with. Both share the notion that an individual CAN make a difference.  My goal is to shine a light on those who do so that others might join them.

Happily transplanted to Fitchburg, Massachusetts, I travel my world intentionally without a camera. When I meet an intriguing person, I ask questions to learn their stories and possibly write about them. My challenge is to make each person a colorful character in their own story, a hero in their own legend. Still far from a camera, I envision a photograph that is unique to them and sparks curiosity, encouraging viewers to read their profile. That is where viewers get the specifics. Then I do whatever it takes to make that image tangible.
