Here is an inspirational assignment I completed for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. I was sent to photograph the students of the Terence C. Reilly School, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. This was an urban public school that was utterly transformed by good management, NUTRITION, and EXCERCISE. Not only were sugar products banned, but also the cafeteria served healthy lunches and at every grade level the curriculum emphasized the importance of healthy eating. Additionally, there were exercise breaks at key points during the day. The program works! I’ve never seen a bunch of kids so incredibly focused, on-task, and receptive to learning. Just look at their eyes – every one of these kids is paying attention!!!
